Feed Your Creativity With The New Nikon Z5 II

A fresh generation of intermediate-level cameras is entering the market, combining the latest advanced features in a compact, lightweight design that is perfect for igniting any creative impulse. Introducing the all-new Nikon Z5 II! The Z5 II represents a significant leap in your photographic journey, offering a straightforward pathway to enhance your skills with full-frame image quality. It boasts a powerful EXPEED 7 image processing engine, lightning-fast and highly intelligent autofocus (AF) driven by deep learning (AI) technology, superb low-light performance, easy-to-use film-inspired colour presets, and one of the most luminous viewfinders available today. The Nikon Z5 II empowers your creative ambitions with unmatched control.

The Nikon Z5 II integrates the same robust EXPEED 7 image processing engine found in Nikon’s top-tier professional models, the Z8 and Z9. This results in extraordinary performance levels and extremely rapid AF with subject detection capabilities driven by AI technology. Whether capturing dynamic portraits or action-packed shots, this system ensures you won't miss critical moments, even in backlit conditions. The 3D-tracking AF mode maintains focus on the subject even if it moves quickly or unpredictably, facilitating accurate subject tracking at high burst speeds. This feature is particularly advantageous for capturing sharp images of fast-moving subjects like athletes, wildlife, or speeding vehicles. The sophisticated AF system can identify up to nine different types of subjects for both still photography and video, including humans (faces, eyes, heads, and upper bodies), dogs, cats, birds, cars, motorcycles, bicycles, airplanes, and trains. The bird detection mode specifically enhances the ability to track birds in motion or during flight. Additionally, the Z5 II features Nikon’s unique portrait functions, such as Rich Tone Portrait, which achieves vibrant and beautifully rendered skin textures, and Skin Softening, which smooths skin while preserving the sharpness of hair, eyes, and other details. High-resolution images can be captured using Pixel Shift shooting, rendering stunning depth and rich textures, from architectural intricacies to rugged landscapes and vibrant artwork, creating images with an astounding resolution of up to approximately 96 megapixels (processed with the complimentary Studio NX software).

The Z5 II is Nikon’s first full-frame mirrorless camera to include AF-A focus mode, which allows the camera to switch automatically between AF-S and AF-C focus modes in response to subject movement or changes in composition during still shooting. This feature makes it effortless to focus on unpredictable subjects like pets or children without needing to adjust settings. The camera is capable of rapid continuous shooting, achieving a maximum frame rate of 14 frames per second in mechanical shutter mode and up to 15 or 30 frames per second in electronic shutter mode, with full autofocus. Moreover, the Pre-Release Capture function in C15 and C30 modes enables the camera to buffer and record images up to one second before the shutter-release button is fully pressed, ensuring that you capture the action even before you can react.

There's no need to fear the dark with the Nikon Z5 II! Equipped with its advanced full-frame back-illuminated CMOS sensor and the state-of-the-art EXPEED 7 image-processing engine, the Z5 II excels in low-light conditions, surpassing other cameras in its category. Its autofocus capabilities can detect down to -10EV, ensuring precise and dependable focus even in the dimmest settings. This makes it an exceptional choice for capturing concerts, live performances, celebrations, low-light portraits, astrophotography, and more. Whether you're taking photos or shooting videos, the Z5 II produces images with minimal noise and outstanding autofocus performance in low-light environments.

No matter if you're photographing indoor scenes, twilight cityscapes, or the night sky, the Z5 II is engineered to help you confidently capture images in almost any lighting situation, maintaining details and textures throughout its extensive ISO range of 100-64,000, which can be expanded to Hi 1.7 (ISO 204,800 equivalent). For video recording, the maximum ISO is 51,200. The camera's 5-axis in-body vibration reduction (VR) system offers exceptional image stabilization, equivalent to a 7.5-stop increase in shutter speed at the center and a 6.0-stop increase at the frame's edges. Additionally, focus-point VR adjusts stabilization based on the active autofocus point's area, ensuring sharp rendering of the subject even when it's positioned near the frame's edge. Features such as Starlight View Mode simplify focus and composition in extremely low light, while Warm Color Display Mode helps maintain night vision when working in complete darkness. With an extended shutter speed of up to 900 seconds (15 minutes) in manual exposure mode, you can capture night skies in unprecedented detail.

The Nikon Z5 II is elegantly crafted to be compact and lightweight, offering a satisfying and comfortable grip. Its electronic viewfinder (EVF) is remarkably bright, six times brighter than any competing model, and can reach up to 3000 nits of brightness, allowing you to shoot effortlessly even in direct sunlight with a clear view of the frame and real-time exposure information. The rear 3.2-inch Vari-angle LCD touchscreen rotates freely to nearly any angle, providing complete compositional freedom. The camera's grip is deep and ergonomic, reducing fatigue during extended use, and its front, back, and top covers are constructed from magnesium alloy, ensuring exceptional durability and resistance to dust and moisture.

The Nikon Z5 II offers one-button access to Picture Controls and is compatible with the Nikon Imaging Cloud. The dedicated Picture Control button unlocks new possibilities for expressive colour, featuring imaginative film-inspired looks that instantly alter the scene's colour tone. With a single press, you can preview the effects of up to 31 built-in colour presets, along with Imaging Recipes that can be manually downloaded from the Nikon Imaging Cloud. The Z5 II also supports Flexible Color Picture Control, allowing you to create unique colour styles using Nikon’s free NX Studio software. This feature offers a broader range of colour and tone adjustments, including hue, brightness, and contrast. These settings can be saved as Custom Picture Controls and imported into the Z5 II for use during shooting.

For hybrid users, the Z5 II boasts powerful video features, capable of capturing highly vivid and detailed 4K/30 UHD video with no crop. This provides creatives with the ability to shoot in 4K at full-frame, offering more wide-angle flexibility. For higher frame rates, the Z5 II can capture up to 4K/60 with a 1.5x crop, while Full HD/120p enables the creation of 5x slow-motion videos in 8-bit H.264. The Z5 II also offers flexible in-camera video recording options with 12-bit N-RAW, 10-bit H.265, and 8-bit H.264, and is the first camera capable of recording N-RAW to an SD card. Hi-Res Zoom utilizes 4K resolution to zoom up to 2X in-camera during Full HD shooting, without any quality loss, which is beneficial when using prime lenses to get closer to a subject and add dynamic elements to footage. N-Log tone modes provide greater flexibility for colour grading, including access to free RED LUTs developed in collaboration with RED, allowing users to achieve cinematic looks. The Z5 II features a Product Review Mode that automatically switches focus between the user and any objects they hold up to the camera, with customizable AF area size. Enhance your streaming capabilities while connected via the UVC/UAC-compliant USB port, transforming the camera into a high-quality webcam for live streaming. Additionally, the Z5 II includes dual SD card slots and ports for headphones and microphones.
